Doron Akiva, Ezuz
A world away from anywhere else in Israel, Ezuz is true break from the everyday and a chance to just visit Doron’s olive groves and meet an inspiring, wise man. Doron’s best friend in the Moshav is a well-known goat herder who makes some of the best cheese in the region. Be sure to visit with him.

Kibbutz Neot Smadar, Southern Negev (60 km North of Eilat)
Their modern kibbutz–which was founded in 1989–has at its core the early principles of the kibbtuz movement. They put intention into all of their building and design. Their structures are intelligently designed for the desert; they incorporate ancient knowledge to their crafts, including the use of air shafts in each building to cool the structures.

Beit Hadvash (Honey House), Moshav Kadesh Barnea
Perfect place to visit with small children as Edward has an entire room devoted to teaching about the honey process. See his glass-encased bee hive and watch him check on his bees, and even taste the various varieties of honey he uses.

Mariam, Tel Shiva
Mariam’s village, Tel Sheva, was established in 1968 under a plan to create more permanent settlement infrastructure for Negev Bedouin. Roughly 13,000 Bedouin live in the town today, which is located in the northern Negev just outside of the desert gateway city of Be’er Sheva.
